Weight vs mass — the article uses kg for weight?

LucasVDOP

Pedantic question: weight is a force (newtons), mass is kg. The program says "you weigh 30 kg on Mars".

You're technically right. In everyday language people say "weigh X kg", meaning "a scale on Earth would show X kg". On Mars a scale calibrated for Earth would show about 38% of your Earth reading, which is what the program calculates.

    A physics-correct version would print newtons: mass * g_planet.

Fair, the everyday meaning is what most people want. Maybe print both?

I added newtons as a second line. Nice little extension.

Pedantry appreciated 😄 Great way to learn the difference.
